Farida Adventures will arrange dance classes with top teachers living in Cairo, as well as visits to costumiers and of course general sightseeing and evenings out enjoying belly dance shows. Owner Kay Taylor is a regular visitor to Cairo, including living there for several months, and has made many contacts and friends, enabling her to provide a unique insight into the country. Farida Adventures offers customised bellydance holidays for small groups of people to the home of bellydance: Egypt. Cairo has a whole range of venues where dancers perform - from fabulous restaurants with entertainment to Nile cruises with dinner or the all night cabarets for the more adventurous. We balance seeing dance shows with sightseeing on most trips. And then of course there is retail therapy - whether that be gifts for the family in the Khan el Khalili or treating yourself to a custom made costume by one of Cairos top designers.
Safaa Farid, singer, band leader and impresario believes the quintessential way for Middle Eastern dance to show it full richness and variety is when dancers and musicians create something unique together. Camp Negum gives dancers the opportunity to dance with live music both in class and on stage. Camp Negum is not just about performing though, it is about enjoying live music and dancing to it in a social setting with other people who love live music too. Optional: performing with band or entering the competition: an additional 30 - this includes a rehearsal with the band to agree the start / end of your piece and a run through of the whole number.
